39th Congress of European Association of Geriatric Psychiatry (EAGP)

11º Congresso da Associação Portuguesa de Gerontopsiquiatria (APG)

 

This congress is intended to be an up-date and reflective space about the main themes in Gerontopsychiatry, in a national and international context.

 

Geriatrics is becoming a priority focus of intervention, due to the exponential growth in the elderly population all over the world, and especially in Portugal, with the second fastest increase in the EU. The elderly, a particularly vulnerable group, will soon reach 25% of the population, requiring the mobilization and attention of all health professionals in general, and mental health practitioners in particular.

 

The Portuguese Gerontopsychiatric Association/APG is used to leading initiatives like this, sharing knowledge and promoting education and research in Portugal, included in a European dynamic.
